NYC Hedge Fund Director Leads Drinking Team to World Record
People had many different ways of spending labor day weekend. Some fired up the grill, some went to work on pitchbooks, and some set new world records in drinking.
Chris Solarz, a 33 year old director at Cliffwater, lead the team of drinkers to 200 bars in Manhattan during a ten hour time span, beating the previous world record that was set by a group in Chicago that vistied 170 bars.
200 bars, now that's quite the pub crawl. We can only hope that he and his team, the "Thirsty Thirteen" had enough time to down a cold one at each. Breaking world records is nothing new for Solarz, since he set a record in 2009 when he traveled the entire NYC subway system in less than 24 hours. On top of that, he was able to provide us with the quote of the day.
"Some people have real problems. I'm worried about getting to the next bar on time."
3 minutes / bar (not including travel time) isn't even fun
Doing it for the sake of doing it... sounds Bridgewater-esque
what is this? Barney Stinson? some ultra-competitive freak who is willing to lose out on an enjoyable day just to break a stupid record/win a dare? Just blind competition everywhere?
These kinds of people make me sick. I wonder if the HF minds this kind of publicity- or is it even seen favorably? What do you guys think?
this is hilarious - i wonder how many type-a hf directors/equiv are in the g-book of world records just for the sake of getting in the g-book of world records / satisfying their ego/hunger to outdo someone else
tomorrow's post "hf director wrestles two bears at once and wins decisively, escapes w/ only a chipped tooth and two bruises on left shoulder"
Undergrad degrees clearly don't matter... http://www.cliffwater.com/zadra.htm
Nothing beats booze and competition. This is like beer pong to the zillionth degree. Epic win.
