NYU Stern Fashion & Luxury MBA hoping to break into BB/EB/UMM IBD

Hi all, I recently received my BA summa cum laude from NYU CAS undergrad and have decided to pursue NYU Stern's recently-established accelerated one-year Fashion & Luxury MBA program right out of graduation. I am looking to land an FT IBD role in the consumers/retail group of a BB/EB/UMM firm in NYC, and was hoping to solicit some informed inputs on whether doing so is feasible without an MBA summer associate internship and also as someone applying from a specialized MBA? I have considerably solid technicals and interview prep skills, and also two VC internships on my resume. What I think I will most likely find difficult is landing even an interview. As an international I have also only two years OPT, and am unsure if this will be a significant barrier.

Will really appreciate any thoughts on this! I realized that I wanted to pursue a job in IBD a bit too late into my college career.

I applied to the NYU Stern Fashion MBA only because I couldn't get into any of the other top regular ones due to my relatively young age and a lack of work experience.

Second the post above. Getting an MBA at this point in your career is useless and creates an opportunity cost. Since you have no work experience, you aren't going to be considered for associate roles, only analyst ones. Also, no reputable MBA is going to consider you without work experience. If you want IBD, my advice is to start networking with small, boutique shops and get some hands on experience. In a year or so, lateral up to the bigger players
