Odd MD Request

Currently an intern at a really small shop and I was asked by the MD (late 50s / early 60s) to help him out with the hiring of a new senior level guy (~10 years experience). Apparently because I'm currently job searching, he thinks I'd be good at pin-pointing resources / candidates. I've told him about my methods of job searching (i.e. networking, OCR, cold-calling), so he's officially intrigued and thinks I'm an expert.

I've told him to post on Ladders, reach out to local schools' career offices, and put something on LinkedIn - I don't think he likes those suggestions since he's repeatedly come back and asked me to help him find someone.

Does anybody have any suggestions as to how I could help him out, beyond what I mentioned above?

You're the gatekeeper/screener. I'd start hitting up the other MD's/VP's that you have been networking with and see if they have any good candidates. Helping out a senior person's friend is a ginormous brownie point.

If the glove don't fit, you must acquit!
