Off-Calendar Internships
Hey all - finishing up B-school at a non-target school and looking to move into ER. Was doing a part time program, so an internship wasn't in the cards and coming from a legal background, so no finance-related internships beforehand either. Not an ideal situation, obviously.
That said - I'm thinking an internship might be the best way for me to get some experience. Have a fairly good network in ER and institutional equity sales in town. Question is - do off-calendar internships even exist? I assume someone has to take care of the mundane, model-updated/coffee getting after summer interns head back.
Thoughts? Am I kidding myself thinking that any shops are even taking non-summer interns?
Lots of threads on this. Yes, they do exist. Usually you'll have to call up for the job or use your network, since off-cycle internships don't have established recruiting procedures.
"Off-calendar" haha. Off-cycle internships exist but are far more common in Europe where they are the norm.
