Off cycle internships

I am currently working on my MBA from UCONN at the Stamford campus. I am expected to graduate in Spring '12, but might delay my graduation till Fall '12 (would apply for summer internships)due to not having experience in the finance industry . My MBA concentration is finance, but I only have experience in IT.

I am from the Fairfield, CT region and have been trying to find an internship for the Fall or Spring semester, but so far have only found that summer internships are offered. I was wondering if anyone knows places that I might not have thought of. I have already contacted UBS, RBS, GE Capital, and a few others. I am waiting on Morgan Stanley to get back to me, but figured I would ask the question in the mean time.

I also checked the companies if they had part time positions and that turned out to be no as well. Any thoughts on part time places as well?

Thanks

originally I wasn't going to be in the area for the summer so I didn't make the deadlines for the internships at the big companies (UBS, GE, etc). Later I found out that I was able to stay in the area so I applied to the jobs at the career fair, but none got back to me (it was very small since Stamford is a satellite campus rather than main campus for UCONN).

I haven't thought about reaching out to alumni and will do that, thank you for the idea.
