Offer Advice - Extended an offer

Hi everyone. I was extended an exploding offer for a BB in NYC last week (not GS/MS/JPM level). I liked the people that I met there for the most part, and think that I would be happy if I took the offer, however there were a few places that I liked more. The problem for me is, OCR has barely started and I have no other ibd interviews lined up for sure yet. Would you advise emailing hr/my contacts at the places I'm interested in (but like I said, have no interview yet), and tell them about my situation?

I'm pretty torn about what to do with the offer and only have a week to decide, so any advice is much appreciated.

Accept. You've got no other options at this point, and unless I'm missing something, you have no guarentees you will have any options even down the line.

You accept this offer: - Worst case scenario, you get a dynamite home-run offer down the line and reneg on this and accept that. - Best case scenario, you keep recruiting and never get any other offers, making this the right choice.

You don't accept: - Worst case scenario, you get no offers down the line. And you're posting on this forum trying to figure out how to parlay an operations gig into an IBD position. - Best case scenario, you get another offer down the line, maybe better than this one, maybe not.

Weigh your options, its an obvious choice. Optionality is the name of the game.

You could let the other firms know you have an offer in hand and would like to have accelerated interviews with them before the deadline.. I know a girl at my school did this and eventually got an offer from the BB she wanted
