Offer decision help

Hi,
I am debating between a quant research analyst position in hedge fund (think AQR, DEShaw, 2sigma) and Citi quant trading. Very different firms and seeking some advice to make a decision.
HF: better rep & comp, work seems fun, but quant research can possibly get very academic (not sure if I want this)
Citi: rep & comp not as good, but has the trading gig / likely the comp to catch up pretty quickly (heard Citi is FI powerhouse/ pays above-market bonuses).
Is it better to start out a career out of undergrad in sell side? Thoughts?
