Opinions on Kellogg 1-year MBA for MBB
I am currently working in my second year at a tier II consulting firm (ATK/Accenture/Deloitte S&O) in India. I want to transition to the top tier consulting firms and want to know about the opportunities offered by the Kellogg 1 year MBA.
Background: Undergrad degree in engineering from top Indian school (IIT) and a post-grad diploma in management from a top Indian b-school (which takes care of the eligibility requirement for the 1 year program at Kellogg). gmat score is 750 and I plan to enter Kellogg (or another top school) with 3-4 years of experience.
I am interested in knowing if such transitions are possible from the 1 year program, or would a 2-year program be a more suitable path. Also, what can I possibly do before and during b-school to maximize my chances of converting MBB from the 1 year program.
1Y should be fine for FT recruiting. Doing the 2Y would just give you two at bats with the recruiting process.
The main thing for you is just getting the interview so your focus will need to be targeted networking to get an interview slot.
Anyone has an idea as to how many candidates are really recruiting FT for consulting roles and what percentage of these do manage to crack MBB? This would be helpful for a person like me who is exploring the 1 year porgram.
