Ops at a commodity trading shop -- what's it like?

I currently live in London and manage a business intelligence platform for a major consumer internet company. I did a round one with one of the larger commodities trading firms in Europe a week ago and they have invited me to do a round two (I'm assuming it's final round) with them this coming week. The position would involve establishing their business intelligence / data warehousing platform, pretty standard ops stuff. Having never worked for a commodities trading firm or with anything related to trading, I'm a loss for what the work will be like. A few concerns I have:

1) the job is based in London but the company is headquartered in another country, and the job will involve frequent travel to headquarters. I don't mind travel but I'm a little concerned that this could be a bait-and-switch, requiring me to relocate after a year or so.
2) the job is technically with the subsidiary company for the trading firm that handles all back-office ops. I'm a little worried that I'll be going from a bluechip name to a no-name company, given that the subsidiary company is really small and basically unheard of.

Another question: what kind of career path would this put me on? Handling BI at a consumer company has me on what I believe to be a product-oriented management track. How much respect do back office guys get at firms like these? Would this be a dead-end career track?
