Options After Private Banking
I’ll be interning at one of the top private banks (BofA, JPM, Citi, etc.) next summer and I wanted to ask if there are opportunities that can come after working in private banking for a few years. Maybe internally transferring to the markets division or other areas of the bank? What about leaving the company to work in other areas of finance?
Or are the stereotypes of private banking being too weak on the technicals to transfer true? I’m just a bit nervous I’ll get in there and want something different or more rewarding.
Just for some context, I plan on working closely with the members of the team who work closely with the investments (since the private banks are different from the typical broker model of other Private Wealth Management divisions).
I’m just curious to what you all think I could do in the long-term starting out in the private banking division.
