Orix USA Growth Capital - Any Insight

Anyone know about Orix USA's Growth Capital team? Seems to manage a decent amount of money (2bn+) and has 15 or so people on the investment team spread amongst the US. Focuses on venture debt & equity. Would appreciate some insights on the firm.

Thanks!

Lifestyle shop. Mostly venture debt for tech and healthcare.

Pays decently well at junior levels (knew a second year analyst who made $160k, though I think that was an outlier). Lots of working from home (even pre-pandemic) and relatively light hours with minimal facetime. Hard to move up past associate because the senior guys don’t leave. I’m told that relations between HQ (Japan) and USA can be strained.

Diligence isn’t super intensive, nor is modeling, so the experience isn’t ideal if you want to exit elsewhere (though I’m sure it still happens). Sounds like it’d be a nice place to exit to at a more senior level, or a solid shop to keep a good lifestyle when you’re younger if you don’t want to pursue the 2+2+2 grind
