Oxbridge Full time MBA

Hey Guys,

I need some advice on the strengths / weaknesses of Oxbridge full time MBA program in order to transition at MBB / Roland Berger.

I was dinged by all ultra elites in Europe, including, LBS/INSEAD/IMD. Both Judge and Said seem to have decent cred. I am not planning on applying at IESE/IE due to current economic conditions in Spain and possible effects on recruiting.

I tried doing a quick search on linkedin but did not come across very many profiles of alumni from MBB.

Thanks a lot!

I believe Judge Business School from Cambridge is much more famous than Oxford Said; however, LSE on the other hand stands as another super elite as its own.

The LSE does not offer an MBA.

@OP: I would still go with IE and IESE instead of Oxford or Cambridge for an MBA program. I am from another European country and I've seen some people from IE in top firm here (ie. Booz & Co.) while I've not seen any form Oxbridge. At the same time, both IE and IESE, will keep your doors open to banking if you make up your mind during the MBA.

Since I am planning to apply in a coulpe of year to European MBA program can I ask you your stats to have an idea of what these schools are looking for?

I'm grateful that I have two middle fingers, I only wish I had more.

[quote=xmasboy]However, LSE does have eMBA though: http://www2.lse.ac.uk/study/graduate/taughtProgrammes2013/TRIUMGlobalEM…]

Yes, but it is not an MBA and I think it targets very senior executives. If you go into the FAQ list of the school they state that they do not have an MBA but they have some degrees which are similar to it (like the MSc in Management). I don't think the eMBA at LSE or the MSc in Management are good options for the OP.

These firms do recruit somewhat at Oxbridge but they won't give you the benefit of the doubt unless you've cleared 700 on the GMAT. They concentrate their recruiting on INSEAD, index-style, with all other Euro schools trailing.

The truth is you're the weak. And I'm the tyranny of evil men. But I'm tryin', Ringo. I'm tryin' real hard to be the shepherd.

The first question that has to be asked is what citizenships do you hold? I am assuming by your applications you hold some sort of EU passport, but if you do not, I would not recommend going to the UK, Visa rules are brutal if you haven't gone to LBS.

My best advice to you is to look at the employment report both on the school's websites and some other, independent sites that mention the top recruiters at each school. And as for majors/courses, make sure you take a lot of strategy courses and be involved in the professional clubs. Those do make a lot of difference.
