PE Consulting Exit Opportunities Insight

Hi all - apologize if this is a near duplicate post... There have been some posts on exit opportunities from consulting into PE, but this questions aligns specifically to exit opportunities for those working in the space of Private Equity Value Creation Strategy Consulting. These are individuals that work specifically with Tier 1/2 global funds, think MBB, Strategy&, LEK, etc. (Tier 1 / 2 Strat firms). Their work focuses on deal strategy validation, target approach and execution, closing and post-acquisition operations value creation / assistance across the deal spectrum.

For those in PE or within these practices, what do you think some of the expected exit ops would be out of these teams? PE operations teams? PE on the investment side? VC but with hands on management approach style teams? Corporate Development? What about Corporate Venture Capital teams - imagine there'd be a need for individuals that understand how to leverage a company resources to add value to portfolio companies?

Thanks for everyone's insight. I'm in the process of analyzing a switch from consulting into a PE portfolio company running acquisitions as part of their growth strategy OR moving into a PE group within a Tier 1 / 2 Strat Consulting firm. Trying to decide which is a better move.
