I feel bad for Qian's inbox. However, this just gave me a great idea for a good practical joke to play on your boss. Post a fake job posting on WSO and give your bosses name as the contact person...

I cannot believe you just posted that - poor Qian is about to get deluged. In fact, I'm editing your post to remove the email address. Qian likely shared that on LinkedIn with the intent that only his connections would see it. Thus, I think it's a violation of that trust for you to post it here on WSO where all the rabid prospective monkeys (and search engines) can find it.

I'll leave it up to you whether or not you want to add Qian's address back into your original post.

- Capt K - "Prestige is like a powerful magnet that warps even your beliefs about what you enjoy. If you want to make ambitious people waste their time on errands, bait the hook with prestige." - Paul Graham

I don't think it was a dick move. In fact, I was trying to help the people here who are interested. Qian has over 2000 contacts on linkedin, and has an open policy with his account. He has this message and email address advertised on his public linkedin page.

I am not saying this is what happened, but what makes us think Qian is a real person? This could be a great way to check out your competition and get an idea of the type of applicants you are up against. In fact, I almost wish I had thought of it.
