Pence Chief and Kushner's Response to Protests???

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/29752844/mike-pence-chief-calls-nba-protests-absurd-jared-kushner-says-reach-lebron-james

Can you possibly be any more fucking tone deaf than these people?.  Look, I would rather see baseball and basketball games because I enjoy watching them but to ridicule them for protesting is pathetic.

This topic is not about the actions and the backgrounds of the people in Wisconsin.  The topic is about the administration's mocking of the protestors.  The NBA, MLB, NHL and probably others have decided to express their views by protesting.

Mocking the protests is a not a good way to bring people together.

People have every right to protest, as long as it’s peaceful. The case of Jacob Blake is not a reason to protest, he was a felon, police were out looking for him for a domestic abuse incident. When they stop him he walks away and behind his car to reach in for something and at that point the police shoot him. He’s still alive because of them too, they rush to call for medical help as soon as the guns go off, I’m not saying it’s a fully justified shooting but it isn’t brutality or racism.

I understand that concept. I should have added that kushner and pence chief could have worded what they said better. I get why people are angry but they shouldn’t be, not over this. What I said is still true, people should have the full story not be divided by the media into these little groups yelling at each other.

Tragically, two people were killed at the protest by some teenager with a gun. That is something people should be angry over. Two people died for no reason at all, protesting for something they believed in.

You're so clearly misinformed about both cases it's actually hilarious.  Even the NYTimes has provided a literal video analysis showing that the kid was acting in self-defense because the "protestors" he killed shot first with a handgun.  The first guy he shot that's getting most of the coverage?  Seen instigating earlier and is a registered child sex offender.  The one that got half his arm blown off?  A felon in illegal possession of a firearm, who on video fired the first shots which instigated the entire confrontation.  Yeah man, huge loss to society.

For Jacob Blake, 911 call was from a woman HE was threatening with a knife.  Officers were aware that he had an open warrant for assault (and did we mention he's a registered child sex offender?).  The person who recorded the original video of him being shot stated that police were yelling "drop the knife" before he turned towards the van ignoring their orders, which it upon examination after the shooting was found to have a knife.  Jacob Blake himself has even confessed to being armed with said knife aka shooting justified, NEXT.

Just for a kicker, George Floyd family and coroner agreed to release full report.  He died of a fentanyl overdose resulting in cardiopulmonary arrest.  Oh and did we mention that he was recovering from having caught the Coronavirus that's been going on this entire time?  And haven't we been told that it can cause long-term respiratory damage?  So the impetus for all these riots over the last 3 months was bullshit from the get-go, just a bunch of idiots reacting to an admittedly emotional video, but without facts.  All being turned into an excuse to loot and burn down the property of people who had nothing to do with it.  The sickest irony?  More people have been killed by ""PROTESTORS"" since this all started (>30) than all police shootings of unarmed black people last year combined (<20).  For fuck's sake Seattle's CHOP would've passed that number of innocent black people killed by now had they sustained rate they were going at if they hadn't had the bright idea to show up to the Mayor's house and get it all shutdown.

This entire movement has no legs to stand on, and it's showing by just how many people are voicing their displeasure with Democrat leaders letting it continue unchecked.  Until of course they realized that it was starting to show in the polls, Donny Lemon brought that up and everyone changed tune real quick.  Is it possible for you far lefties to pick a single martyr who doesn't have a criminal record for assault, drug possession, or pedophilia?  Like is it really THAT hard for you people?

I’m so glad I’m a UFC fan and not an NBA one. Dana would never allow the horseshit that’s going on in the NBA rn

Really don't think having drugs in your system makes it right for someone to push their entire weight on your neck while you're telling them you can't breath...

Really don't think "having a knife in the car" with your back turned, with multiple opportunities to de-escalate / arrest, gives someone the right to try and execute you on the spot...

What if it was your son or daughter on the ground, handcuffed, with someone stomping on their throat while they were wheezing "I can't breath" and begging for their life? Would it make it alright if I said that your child had cocaine in their system?

No one SAID what happened to George Floyd was right.  Everyone agrees that that officer is a piece of shit and should've been removed from the force long ago just based off the number of abuse-of-force claims against him.  The officer is without question guilty of putting excessive sustained pressure onto the neck of someone that was clearly vocalizing their need medical attention due to a respiratory issue.  He should 100% be convicted of manslaughter, lose his job (and his pension IMO), and spend a significant chunk of time in a cell.  But it is a complete non-sequitur to try and shift all the blame onto said officer and use it as some sort of sick justification for the past 3 months. Floyd is the one who pumped himself full of a fatal dose Fentanyl.  Floyd was the one who got the cops called on himself while he was actively committing ANOTHER felony.  The entire situation could have been avoided if he was ALSO not a piece of shit.  Everyone in this scenario is shitty.  That doesn't mean all the other pieces of shit across the country now get to band together and commit more felonies.

As for having a knife in a car being a reason to execute someone on the spot, you're right, that would not be justifiable in any way shape or form.  But that's also not what happened, so that comparison is irrelevant.  It was not sitting "in the car" and then he was shot.  It was in his possession and later recovered FROM the car after he presumably dropped it subsequent to being shot.  Again, Blake has admitted that it was actively in his possession.  Any person with a knife can cross a distance of several yards and inflict multiple fatal wounds in a matter of seconds, even vs someone who has a firearm.  If police are on the scene with a historically violent offender that has an open felony warrant, responding to a call that he is threatening the life of another civilian with a knife, and have deployed tasers that failed to bring down said subject as he continues to ignore instructions, it would be irresponsible for them NOT to shoot him.

As for how I'd feel about my kid if they were in Floyd's position?  I'd be devastated.  It'd be my kid, of course anyone would be in that situation.  I also have had family members who have overdosed due to their own shitty decision making.  It is always a tragedy when life is lost, no matter who the person is or what they have done in the past.  It is always sad when a family member or friend is the victim of violence of any kind.  But if it was THEIR CHOICE to make the poor decisions that led to a completely avoidable circumstance, I am not about to use that grief as an excuse to go cause someone else equal or greater pain.  Because I am not a steamy pile of shit.  I'm someone who surprisingly grasps the concept that when people have the freedom to make choices, that those choices have consequences.  That's called being an adult.

But what exactly is so disturbing about protesting police brutality against minorities? There are definitely looters that have used the protests as cover, but those are two separate actions. You can work to stop looting while also reforming police against systematic bias...

Police brutality against minorities was always known, but now the information spreads faster than ever with today's social media in ways that truly display the "brutality" part of it. Something about seeing a man beg for his life, with people around the officer screaming for him to stop, and the officer just sneering makes things hit home differently.

The best part is that the protests have worked. For pretty much the first time in American history, there is majority support for serious reforms to policing (things like body cameras and de-escalation training, not defund the police). https://www.politico.com/news/2020/07/14/americans-agree-police-reforms-360659

Lebron can apply for citizenship in China since he can't stop sucking up to them while complaining about the country that made him a millionaire to play ball. He's a traitor, nothing less.

Never discuss with idiots, first they drag you at their level, then they beat you with experience.

Regardless of how you view their tone on this, these riots are going be a huge problem for the democrats. I think people from the East/West Coast with high paying jobs forget who decides elections from a voter standpoint. "Violent crime, public safety, riots, defunding the police" and the like are appearing more and more in surveys regarding voter concerns in swing states. Like it or not that definitely favors the incumbent at the moment, hence the reason the polls are tightening.

I have seen Dems coming out a bit more on the topic, but they need to address it more head-on. I'm not even sure why that is a contentious point, but it seems to be. I think the election will slip away from them if they don't get in front of this more. Like it or not Trump has positioned himself as the law and order candidate and this stuff is going to weigh on the Dems. They have positioned themselves on issues of race, policing, etc and believe it or not it seems that these issues are becoming less important in swing states compared to crime, etc. For reference, I also read that "crime" was not named in the top 5 voter issues in 2016.

See below:

"New polling suggests support for Black Lives Matter dropped by 13 points in Wisconsin between June and early August — while a net positive approval rating of +25 completely evaporated.

The survey data collected by Marquette Law School indicated 48 percent of Wisconsin residents surveyed between August 8-9 approved of Black Lives Matter, with 48 percent saying they disapproved. That was a shift from 61 percent who said they approved between June 14-18, next to 36 percent who said they disapproved."
