People still don't know who GHL/LAZ/ EVR is....

Anyone ever run into problems applying to finance positions and getting rejected b/c the position requires BB experience?

Shouldn't GHL/LAZ/EVR be as respected as the BB?

this can't possibly be true (at least it can't be common). what "finance" companies are going to not know who those companies are? they are equally as respected as (and sometimes more than) bulge brackets.

Agree with kalice...It can't be the previous experience at an elite boutique that is keeping you from an interview...

I would rather take those elite boutiques over low tier BB's. and i know many who would do so as well

It hasn't happen to me, I just know someone that didn't meet the qualifications to a regional hedge fund b/c it requires BB experience.

I'm sure the big PE, VC, etc knows what elite boutiques are, but just wanted to get a feel if they are known in regional shops and fortune 500 companies.

To the OP, they are definately known amongst regional shops and fortune 500 cos. Only someone who had been living in a cave wouldn't know those names
