Just want to get some hope here. I interned at a top BB this summer, and unfortunately didn't get a return offer, and am still trying to find a full-time job. How did the rest of you guys fare - anyone get an offer at another IB? had to change industries? still looking? depressed?

Don't wanna hijack the thread, but why do you think you didn't get the return offer?
My entire group got cut, so I don't know if it was on me at all. The firm then laid off the rest of the full time employees in that group as well.
Dang, which BB was this bro? Didn't know of a BB that cut an entire group.
Not in IB, but AM. Also interned at a top BB but got cut. Was devestating, put on like 30 pounds as I searched for a job but eventually found one back in November. It is a struggle but push through.
Goddamn dude, I respect the grind
People at my school extended a semester and re-recruited for SA positions in different (but still competitive) roles, like consulting (MBB) or F500 finance (FAANG)
Bear in mind that it wasn't easy for them. They actually worked like crazy and got lucky in the end. No idea why they didn't get return offers
still wanna kms
idk how i pulled it off but i went from BB -> MBB FT and not a single MBB asked if I got a return offer either
What was your story for why you made the switch from banking to consulting?
Literally just said I was more interested in learning how a company is ran than how it's valued
Interned with a regional bank over the summer almost everyone in a ~40 person group didn't get return offers except for a few diversity hires. Absolutely grinded networking and applications and ultimately landed an IB offer at a solid MM shop in my top location. Didn't necessarily get the group I wanted, but I know I am very fortunate to have something secured. Came from a pretty non-target background too so it was an uphill battle to say the least lol
Living in a van down by the river
Summer internship got cancelled. Eventually got a gig at a local tech firm. Went through FT recruiting and got a gig at a top industry boutique. Keep grinding!
Interned in public finance and landed a private credit restructuring role for FT.
How'd you make that transition? Gonna be interning in PF this upcoming summer and would love to hear your experience recruiting fulltime
interested to hear about those who interned in Energy IB and didn't get an FT-offer.
FT, but saw what happened this past summer..NYC energy group got cut, but summers received returns and placed in other non-desirable groups FT unfortunately.
Sadly still on the search, but have barely been getting interviews bc I went to a non target school. Barely any applications been open lately too so it kinda sucks
Different story. Finished a year as an IBD analyst at a BB and all juniors got cut. Took a few months off and recently been getting alot of interview invites. Internally thinking against rejoining IB as I've developed some nice programming skills and backed by my STEM background I'm thinking of going into tech now. Really confused tbh
