Philanthropists too busy fixing other problems to fix themselves
I was reading this article and was surprised to read the stats thrown at you as your read. Definitely recommend you check it out for a full break down, but basically if you look at the top 300-something organizations in this industry, leadership is about 90% white.
The article then raises the point about whether it makes sense to have this homogeneity in this industry since the "target market" or target for aid is often quite the opposite.
What do you guys make of this? Would you argue that "white people" are the ones who are more often in a position to actually be philanthropic and therefore it's naturally that they dominate this industry so heavily? Perhaps they are the ones who face the most pressure to "give back"?
