Picking between 2 “offers”

this is completely hypothetical but would it be better to take an offer regionally for a BB such as BAML/CA/Barclays or take an NY offer for a a firm such as Wells. this is hypothetically for SA 21 and the end goal is to be in NYC for a firm like BAML or an EB.

Unless it's a particularly strong regional office, I would go for NYC. Although like another said, Wells isn't a good example in this case because NYC isn't even their HQ.

Thought you couldn’t choose location for Wells until after signing / they assign you somewhere. Also hypotheticals are poor, focus on getting the offers first. Your intended recruiting plan rarely goes to plan, even for the most accomplished people etc. Maybe you’ll get a way better offer than you imagined, maybe none at all. These questions are just something that breeds into insecurity, worrying over marginal differences that you can’t control. Good luck recruiting either way.

If you want to work in NY at a BAML/CS/Barclays (don't know why you would care about the difference between these), a regional offer at one of these places definitely puts you right there in the firm and in prime position to do an internal move later on. Much easier than Wells NY -> a different bank in NY.

Be excellent to each other, and party on, dudes.
