PIMCO Alternative Investments / Distressed Comp, Culture, Strategy, Etc.

PIMCO's high yield credit/corporate distressed team manages funds with a private equity structure and focuses on investing in corporate opportunities across stressed/distressed corporate bonds and bank loans, direct lending, rescue financings, post-reorg equity, and other illiquid corporate securities.

Was wondering if anyone had any additional information about this team within PIMCO. Do they operate as a hedge fund and have a hedge fund fee structure?

If so, how does this fund compare to other Distressed/Credit funds, and is the analyst comp/culture comparable?

Any thoughts or knowledge on this?

Incoming 2022 SA in said group. The internship is a rotation between private distressed debt and special situations (private equity) investments. Base is $100K, high fee structure, and no need for MBA to get to PM. Feel free to ask any questions.
