Piper Jaffray Summer Analyst Superday
I'm going to have an interview with Piper Jaffray's Healthcare, Tech and Consumer groups this Friday at their San Francisco office. Anybody have any experience with PJC's interviews or any helpful suggestions (besides the obvious). Anyone know about their culture.
Thank you!!
helpful suggestions (beside the obvious)... haha, d-bag
Get ready for some trollingggg
i suggest u reach out to alums who work there and read their website, mission, what they do, and recent deals. generally prepare for why PJ and other fit questions. technicals are not as important and can be researched at ibankingfaq.com. congratulations son, you have attained what most cannot; much shiatsu in your future.
thank you all, and PiperJaffrayChiang especially :)
btw, wat does trolling mean?
PJC suprisingly gave a nice contribution!
PJC you are BofAML FT?? NYC? which group?
the trolling has gotten so out of hand people expect it and are pleasantly surprised when it does not show up
nice
hey guys, i got the offer.... thank you so much for all your inputs! the interview was more "fit" althought technical questions did come up occassionally, and when they did, the bankers certainly made them count!
great work ZIRH. I'd appreciate it if you gave some commentary on the:
comp culture lifestyle dealflow uni background of your colleagues
thank you.
PiperJaffrayChiang: did you want my commentary after my summer internship? btw, i thought you worked in PJC, i mean your username definitely suggested that...
I only wish I did. sure after your summer internship would be great, thanks.
hey ZIRH,
could you provide an update regarding your experiences as a SA at Piper Jaffray?
thanks
in short, I had a great experience. Excellent people to work with, and throughout my internships, they have been getting phone calls from top banks trying to poach them. As an intern, I got to sit in on drafting calls, weekly meetings, even sat in a meeting with a CEO. Felt very involved in the process, and respected. Senior bankers give heads up on projects so we can plan our work accordingly (something very rare in banking). It's hard to write everything, but if you have specific questions, feel free to PM me. I learned so much in those weeks it's unbelievable, and I actually did "real" work besides the usual monkey work that interns are staffed with. Of course, you still have the college kids who laugh at Piper, but seeing the exit opportunities for the analysts and camaraderie they have in the office, it's a great place to work.
