PJT Secondary Opinion

Just received an offer for PJT Secondary Advisory Group. I am in both early and late stage processes with other BBs and EBs, but timelines might not work out. Wondering what people's thoughts are about this group, whether it is worth taking, and potential MF exits. Prestige, deal flow, analyst experience under consideration as well.

You could definitely leverage an internship with PJT into a FT at a BB or another EB. They are highly respected and constantly have solid deal flow.

Can't speak to MF exits, but if you networked hard enough I image it would be more than possible. Great name to have on your resume.

Secondaries, especially direct secondaries and GP-led restructurings - which are very complex and involve deep company analysis - are set to boom in the near future in all forms of PE (buyout, venture, growth, real estate). It's a great niche industry to hop onto at the moment as a junior and ride-out a wave of momentum in deal flow and experience. PJT is one of if not the top group to advise on such transactions (especially restructurings) so a secondary role there would be a great experience. I work on the buy-side where we deal with secondary investments a lot.

Would you say that it would be difficult to transition into direct PE investing (even MM PE) after their analyst program?
