Please critique my resume (FT M&A applications)
Hey there,
please critique my resume, as I am planning to apply for full time M&A positions as well as corporate development positions soon.
Two comments:
- Don't care about the GPA, it's country specific and hence won't make much sense to you I guess
- The elite boutique I interned with doesn't give out FT offers over here but I got a pretty stellar review and will be invited to accelerated interviews in fall (therefore, no return offer)
Any help, criticism or tips are highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance guys!

I also uploaded it to dropbox which makes it much easier to read:

GPA: 1.7? Out of? Remove it even if you think the GPA doesnt count! I would say there is too much on your CV! Hard to read
Where are you applying to? If you apply to Germany, GPA is fine like that. However, if you apply abroad, I would convert it to 4.0 scale. Furthermore, if you apply to Germany, put all your achievements on there, don't feel obligated to keep it to one page. However, don't clutter it. Abbreviate months. Also, I heard that you shouldn't put MS office because it goes without saying, not sure about that one :/
It seems like a German GPA. If I remember correctly, schools in Germany use a 1-7 point scale with 1 being the best. 1.7 is probably solid, but be sure to convert/explain it if you apply outside of Germany.
I know it's not actually 1.7/4.0 GPA, but that would be pretty impressive to land Big 4 / Elite Boutique internships with a 1.7/4.0 GPA haha
Haha, as I said, don't bother with the GPA. It's a German GPA, where 1.0 is the best and 4.0 is the worst passing grade. However, it is nearly impossible to get an overall 1.0-1.3, so I'm in the top 10% of my class. I'm actually not sure how to convert it and London banks usually know the German grading system, so they can sort out whether a grade is good or not. However, I will look if I can find an appropriate conversion scale.
Regarding MS Office: I know, there are people that think it is totally useless to add it, others say that I should just include it. I asked the recruiters and the analysts at my last stint and the majority of people told me to add it, so I guess I'll just leave it on.
I will abbreviate the months, thanks for that.
Thanks for all your comments so far guys! Keep them coming, I really appreciate your help.
EDIT: And I'm applying to positions in London as well as continental Europe.
I also uploaded it to dropbox, because it is kind of hard to read on Razume: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/35230016/CV_WSO.pdf
Great resume. I'm jealous. :)
Advice: I would take out "Traveling" as an interest - too generic.
Thank you, appreciate it!
I wanted to include traveling because I'm quite a frequent traveler and I traveled in about 20 countries all over the world, but yeah, maybe it is too generic. I will think about it, thanks man!
