Please End Cringe Partisanship on WSO, Thx

Normally, I'd support Republican candidates but this time I supported Biden (well I did support Republican candidates in the local elections though), because I thought Biden will cool down some of the divisiveness and bring a sense of unity.

Unfortunately, I don't see any effort to make peace from "both sides" (whatever the fuck that might even mean cuz you're all AMERICANS) on WSO and in real life. You just don't root against the other team, you root for your team. If you lose, then you graciously accept. If you win, then you should celebrate your victory but also celebrate with the other side that you both did your best. Very toxic to be in constant denial or to "rub it in". You do know that they're both symptoms of mental disorders, right?

All I see is bunch of man-children on ONLINE FORUMS under PSEUDONYMS engaging in all sorts cringe behavior. So much rationalization, hostility, over-generalization, and hypocrisy on both sides.

Relax everyone. Dems and Republicans are both pretty fucking terrible. One side does something bad to get ahead and the other does the exact same thing couple years later. If you think "your side" (whatever the fuck that might mean because you are all AMERICANS), is somehow "better", you're a damn fool. Dems like to increase seats in the Congress with illegal immigrants and Republicans like to stay in power through voter suppression. Dems like to abuse regulations when it favors big businesses and Republicans abuse deregulations when it favors big businesses. Dems risk abrutping the separation of powers when it benefits them and Republicans do the exact same thing. Yet each side criticizes each other for "doing something bad"? LOL, give me a break. It's like watching 2 thieves accusing each other of stealing.

THE POINT IS: THEY ARE BOTH PRETTY SHITTY. And they both like to feed you these tidbits that makes you angry at each other and makes the "other side" seem evil. While you're busy fighting one another, America's rivals are laughing their asses off watching how America is decaying from the inside.

Do yourselves a favor. Detach yourselves from ideologies and stereotypes. Detach yourselves from the hate. You're not better than the "other side". If you just STFU and listen to each other, you'll find that you agree on a lot more than you think. You're both people, with the same needs, same emotions, same biases, same ambitions, and same concerns. Do yourselves a favor and stop watching CNN and FOX. I recently found out that CBS and ABC actually tries to be objective.

TL; DR: I'm sick of this WSO and the entire world turning into another version of Twitter-level cesspool. Dems and Republicans are both pretty fucking terrible nowadays, just 2 thieves blaming each other for stealing.

Plz relax and try to listen to each other. Thx.

Tell em milton.

Seriously though, I agree. Democrat and Republican isn’t an identity to have, nor is it a reason to judge the guy/gal sitting next to you, So many people have their entire existence tied up in this shit, and at the end of the day it doesn’t matter.

Some people don’t seem to feel this way, have lost a friend because apperantly right leaning people are bigots.

100% agree. It's like humans always have to find another reason to hate each other for. Religion, race, and now political beliefs?

At least we don't fight wars and commit mass homicide over those things anymore in the developed world.

I mean we all have the same emotions, same ambitions, and probably very similar experiences we can all bond over. Yet we have this compulsion to focus on the differences. I just don't get it.

I'm sorry to hear that.

I've been very lucky in that regard that I haven't had this experience yet. My friends include everyone self-proclaimed market-economy Socialists, typical liberals, typical consevatives, and hard-core libertarians. I'm lucky that we all can learn from each other without being hostile to each other.

I can only hope the same for others.

Just as much as I'm ready for white supremacists showing up.

If Commies show up, I'll show them why they actually aren't Commies. If white supremacists show up, I'm gonna be first non-white person they'll actually get to know in person. Either way, they'll both end up leaving my place well-fed and no longer Commies/racists.

People need to stop buying into all the BS rhetoric. "If Biden wins, Commies will take over" and "If Trump wins, Fascists will take over". Oh Wow really? Are people really that dumb to believe either of the BS? Or are you just watching too much FOX/CNN that it got under your subconsciousness?

Hah dude have you seen what communism does to a country? The eastern bloc is still recovering from it several decades later. The brownshirts come and take you away at night.

I'd personally take fascism over communism any day. The fascists would probably at least tell you to leave town first.

I definitely listen to the other side, but that doesn’t mean I agree with them on a lot. A good, comprehensive , unpartisan website to see where you stand is https://www.isidewith.com/. I think also politics is much more intense right before an election. Now that the election is over I find myself disinterested and probably will only start being interested again early 2024 (assuming Biden doesn’t die in office or widespread voter fraud is discovered).
