[PLEASE HELP] Lateral Analyst - Should I take this offer? (MM>EB)

Hey guys,

For context, I am an A1 ~5 mo. on the desk. Currently in a non-NY major city working in mid-tier MM Industry M&A group and just got an offer for an Industry M&A group at an EB in the same city via interviews set up by an alum. However, this group at the EB is very small and does not contribute much to the prestige of the EB overall; though to be fair, my current group at the MM is also small.

If I'm looking for the potential career path of (1) stay in banking A2A (2) corp dev / VC / MM PE (3) MBA, should I take this offer? Team-size wise, I'm currently in a group with 6 analysts, whereas at the EB, I'd be 1 of 2 analysts. I was told lifestyle and culture would be better; plus I'd get a better brand name and likely higher quality deals, though it still not a major group at the EB.

What would you do here? Would really value your opinion. It's not to say my current job is bad at all - I have good deal exposure but I think career path and quality over quantity is a big emphasis of mine here. Exploding deadline is coming up.

Cheers!

I feel like the only way the lifestyle would be better at an office with only 2 analysts would be if there was barely any deal flow/the office is just ramping up. In this case, though the lifestyle at the moment may be better, as the months go by and given the office gets more deal flow and keeps the same number of analysts, you and your other analyst friend will get crushed.

I would suggest trying to get on the phone with the other analyst and technically the only analyst who is working there and get his/her take on the office and its future trajectory/lifestyle/culture.
