PLEASE HELP ME?

I am a rising junior (sophomore right now) at the University of Michigan majoring in Industrial and Operations Engineering. I used to think I'd want to work in IT but I am getting sick of it (part time jobs, internships). Under no circumstances would I ever want to work as a line engineer and endure such mundane life. I am thinking about ibanking or consulting.

I currently have a 3.4 GPA and expect it to increase to around 3.5 by the end of this year. Obviously I dont have much finance experience. The only one I had was right out of high school where I worked at an overseas holding company ($400mil market cap) as a trainee investment analyst doing some simple researches.

Freshman year summer I worked as network administrator at a small company in town.

This summer I have an internship lined up at Progressive insurance as IT operations analyst.

I have decent extracurriculars. I am in an options trading group and I also run my startup company.

Here comes my questions:

  1. Would I have any chance based on my current stats and lack of experience? I know I'd probably not even sniff an interview at a BB,would I have a chance at middle market or boutiques?

  2. Should I abandon ship on my summer internship and start cold calling boutiques or try to get even an unpaid internship in an area related?

You have a chance, depending on how legit your startup experience is, and how well you can sell it. I'd aim for MM and boutiques - BB is ridiculously competitive right now, if they're hiring at all.
