Portfolio Construction VS Research Analyst

I am currently interviewing with a Mega Hedge Fund (macro driven). I am relatively new to the industry, so I wanted the get some inputs: between the portfolio construction team (covers all asset classes) and macro research team (will be assigned to a specific group such as fixed income, equity etc.), which team provides more exposures and future career advancement opportunities?
