Private Placements Group

There's not a lot of info out there on private placements/fundraising groups. Curious to see what are comp, hours and exits like? Is it a good gig?

I'd be worried that the technical skills aren't very strong, so what do you do if you find yourself out of a job?

Private placements and private capital are different. One refers to doing equity-like deals in the form of private placements with sponsors, etc. The other is helping institutions like SWF, PE, etc. capital raise for their next fund. The former pays more, and is more interesting IMO since you're actually learning about companies (but minimal modeling).

Meant more on the capital raising side. Do you know much about lifestyle and exits? Seems like a bit of a risky move, but could potentially be lucrative with pretty good work-life balance.

Wouldn't take this job expecting to exit into an investing role in the future. It's a lifestyle job. Lots of beautiful women though since it's basically sales. Exit opps are people tend to move around to other placement agent firms, internally to a fund manager who does their own capital raising, and some go to IR.
