Post MBA VP PE for international student

Hi all, wasn't able to find posts on this/ don't really wanna bring up to HHs. International currently working in the US.

Worked 2 years in BB IB and then 3 years at MM PE shop and headed to MBA (HSW). How hard is it to get sponsored for VP positions i.e. H1-B (I already have a H1-B but been used for 3-4 years). Do funds sponsor green cards at the VP level too?

first of all, why has no employer filed for permanent residency already? you have been here legally for more than 5 years.

how much time is left on the H1b? Extensions, as you know, do not fall under the cap limit and are "easier" to get than new adjudications.

In theory, an employer can file for you again or even straight to permanent residency, but I can not tell you who will do it in the current climate.

There's been a lot of thread about this. Generally speaking, larger funds (ie. MF) will be fine with sponsoring, pretty much everyone else generally don't want to bother with the hassle, but it's really on a case by case basis. Having a valid H1b does go a LONG way as it removes the risk of not getting a visa. Then it's just a function of spending the $$ for lawyers to do the visa transfer and the Green Card application.
