Post-Superday Jitters. Would like to settle some uncertainty
I recently had a superday. I spoke with the recruiter about when I should hear back and he said 1 to 2 weeks. On the other hand, I spoke to another candidate who was contacted after the superday to set up a phone call for next week.
I interpret this as me not getting an offer or getting on the waitlist at best. Could anyone chime in with their experiences to confirm my suspicions?
Honestly I’d go with Occam’s Razor and just assume the recruiter was telling the truth. There is no reason for them to lie. You did your job already so don’t sweat it too much; now the firm is doing theirs
Most likely you are on the outside looking in, but definitely possible there is another explanation. Stay calm and carry on.
I think that it is common with BB’s to extend offers to their preferred candidates within 0-72 hours after the superday. Could be longer in some instances. Although HR usually gives candidates a longer timeframe for obvious reasons.
With that said, 2 weeks out usually means waitlisted or simply no offer.
Don’t lose hope but don’t stop applying/networking at other places. The grind doesn’t stop until you get an offer.
Hey Paul. Thanks for your response.
The candidate who received the email was definitely a stellar performer. I was wondering if there is a particular protocol for firms to reach out before MY given timeframe (1-2 weeks).
Is it possible for that individual's situation to be an exception rather than a general roll out of offers? AKA, am I still in the runnings (rather than being declined or waitlisted)? Thanks.
