Potential Senior Interviewer Hates Me???

Hi guys,

I'm interviewing for a firm where the likely interviewer is very senior and seems to dislike me based on trivial reasons--just the impression I got from an interview with him last year and from various recruiting events. He always tries to blow me off and is fairly condescending to me. Not to emphasize race, but he always seems chummy with the white students and has been fairly rude to me when I approach him asking the same questions. However, everyone else at the firm (ranging from analysts to VPs) really likes me and thinks I'm extremely qualified for the job.

How should I approach this interview if he ends up being my interviewer? I'm worried since he is so senior he could blacklist me from the firm; is there anything I should try and do?

RepThyBananas:

Him: "Do you have any questions for me?"
You: "When did you become such a racist?"

"I do not think that there is any other quality so essential to success of any kind as the quality of perseverance. It overcomes almost everything, even nature."

You just have to be nice and respectful.

Sometimes, people can be assholes to you for reasons other than race. It may be your major, your school, your family, your demeanor, or a lot of different stuff. Sometimes it is correlated with who they thought the assholes were when THEY were in your situation.

Hope for a technical interview, and one where you can really prove you know your stuff perhaps as well as he does. Technical interviews are always the great leveler when you are dealing with biased people or assholes. It limits how biased people can be. For/against minorities, for/against certain majors, for/against the CEO's kid.

Prove that you're not that asshole, prove that you know your stuff, and that's the best that you can do. Whatever you do, don't be smug with this guy, and stay humble.
