power and utilities group at morgan stanley
wondering if anyone knows what kind of exit opps people from this group go on to. where does it stack up again other groups? I know this is an often asked question, and i tried searching, but wanted something up to date. any help is appreciated!
Good friend interned there, and loved it.
Is that the one located in Houston? If so, they get crushed but apparently great culture.
P&U is in New York and is distinct from NRG, which is in both NY and Houston. I've heard very good things about the culture at MS P&U (very outgoing and fratty) and they're obviously among the best in terms of dealflow (see pretty much every power deal announced this year). Placement is solid as well, with analysts placing at large industry-specialized funds as well as upper-MMs regularly and a couple going to MFs and hedge funds. They're arguably the top industry group at the firm, along with Tech and Media & Telecom.

Anybody know anything about it?
top shop in commodities, easily comparable to J. Aron.. very experienced in physical trading with some incredible people working there. If you're interested in energy trading, it's definitely one of the better places to get your start.
