Power & Utilities - Top Firms

Hey Everyone,

First time poster here, so please excuse if I may have overlooked any past relevant threads.

I am in the process of developing a deeper understanding for the IB and Developer opportunities within the Power & Utilities industry. What are the key players within this sector and what is the best strategy for penetrating associate position opportunities within such firms? For background, I am a Project Engineer (Engineer/Project Management Role) for a leading Engineering Consultant firm servicing the Power & Utilities sector. My ultimate goal is to transition to a role targeted to support the business strategy & financing of large infrastructure projects.

This is a very high-level and preliminary question, but to further expand on my first question: What Associate/1st Year opportunities in this sector are there for MBA graduates from a top 10/25 ranked school? I'd like to start creating a list of key firms rooted in this industry and target roles for post-MBA employment.

Thanks!

Would say they are definitely solid and do deals, but not premier.

Premier today imo: GS, MS, Barc, JPM, Citi, BofA, EVR, LAZ, Gugg, Roths, RBC

Solid: Marathon, Nomura Greentech, MacCap, Jeff, Wells, Key, Scotia, Cohn, others

I know this list seems stupid long but there’s just that much dealflow to go around in recent years.
