Pre-MBA Prep

Is anyone else an MBA '19 looking at pre-MBA internships with the McKinsey, Bain, BCG? ( McKinsey Emerging MBA Scholars Program, etc.)

Did anyone in the class of '18 attend one and have perspective on how to apply and the value from the experience?

I'm a looking to pivot into consulting from a different industry (along with half my class it would seem...) and wondering:

1.) How much of a competitive advantage these programs provide in subsequent recruiting?
2.) Any dos and don'ts for these applications

For the most part the applications are perfunctory, a few short answers, undergrad GPA, GMAT/GRE, and a resume, but some also offer the chance to upload a transcript or cover letter.

Anyone got knowledge? Please share.
