Premed contemplating career change
I'm in my senior year of a standard premed curriculum. Already applied to med schools for this cycle, don't know how that'll go. But regardless of whether I get accepted or not, it's like, you know how most people have discovered their passions by this point? Well I've just discovered my lack thereof. I've no interest in science, no desire to interact with my peers who love science. I went into premed out of high school because I thought doctor shows were cool. I could keep my grades up by sheer attrition in my earlier years of undergrad, but now my grades are dipping a bit cuz I just don't have it in me to brute force my way through something I don't care about anymore.
I want to go into something business-related. But I have no experience in the field. And of course networking is far more important in business than in premed (where grades are paramount). Thing is though, I still wanna go to med school, if for no other reason than because I did NOT go through organic chemistry and genetics and take the MCAT just for all of that to go to waste. So, I guess I have to ask, what should I be doing to break into finance? And will an MD/MBA give me any sort of advantage in trying to find a job in finance?
