Primers on debt/credit funds?
I am curious about careers in credit/debt investing at firms like Bain Capital, Ares, OakTree, etc. My understanding of it is very vague regarding what they do, the different types, and pay/WLB. Any help would be great.
The Caesars Palace Coup book is a great read if you're interested in general credit/distressed investing. It does an excellent job of explaining how credit investing works, the major funds in the space, and applying everything to a real-life example (The Apollo/TPG Caesers buyout).
Before reading it, I didn’t really understand how credit/debt investing worked, but I came away feeling pretty knowledgable
