Private Banking - RM vs. Investment Associate

Hey all,

I'm looking at potential PB internships and the different paths one can take in the space. I know that RM roles are mostly generalist and not much technical analysis takes place. But, what about Investment roles in the private sector? Do these roles prepare you a little more, in terms of quantitative skills, to move up the ladder to a potential PM spot, or AM, or a fund one day?

Thanks so much!
