Private Equity Associate Off Cycle Recruiting
Does anyone know if there are any firms looking for pre-mba off cycle mba hires? Either immediate or summer 2016?
What is the best way to be plugged in to opportunities like this that pop up?

There are always firms looking on a rolling basis due to unexpected attrition and other reasons. Best way to be plugged in is thru headhunter firms (Oxbridge, SG Partners, etc.).
What are the best ways to be "plugged in" to headhunters? I'm new to this. Is it just establishing a contact at these firms and saying, essentially, "hey, keep me in the loop if anything comes up where you think I might be a good fit"? "Add me to your contact list when opportunities arise?"
Yes, reach out via email at each firm to introduce yourself and send your resume. Best way is to get an intro from a friend/ colleague that has been placed successfully by that firm in the past. Are you currently in school or are you working? If working, what's your job?
^ Investment banking analyst in TMT group at MM bank. I have some emails from Headhunters/recruiters but they sometimes send opportunities that are not the best fit ( I let the know) . How do we receive the best opportunities from Headhunters? Ie I know some of my friends got some great opportunities sent to them from the recruiters at CPI but not the MM banks?
Currently a student - JD/MBA at Stanford/Harvard; some PE firms come here to recruit, but 90% of students network their way to a PE gig. If you take out those students returning to their old firms, that % ebbs toward 100.
Yeah, also GoBuyside, Vettery, Glocap, Pinnacle are good online job boards
I know a few smaller/mm PE shops that are looking for fall intern analysts, only for undergrads though.
