How to Get Started in PE LBO's

Hey guys,

I've been a big follower of WSO for a few years but have only really read the content as an outsider. I'd like to reach out to see how I can finally get into the actual industry. Right now I've found myself in a strange position since college.

I joined a company last year that's not even close to the same industry but that has a management track, that I do have a lot of earning potential at; but I graduated from an Ivy League school and have found myself still continuously looking to get into PE, specifically LBO's.

Mainly, I'm posting this to get honest feedback of how to get into the industry; or if I legitimately have no shot at all. If not, I've got a plan to grow my real estate investment portfolio until I can fund PE LBO endeavors down the road at least on a small scale to start out. But if there's any real way I can get into the industry I'd love to see how.

Thanks!
