I usually get a number of these from time to time, and have done my best to answer them (although many times one will slip through the cracks, and my replies may not be particularly timely).

Given what's happened to the Bear Stearns incomings, and the general anxiety that has fostered among others, I've received more PMs than usual. If you sent me one, I will try to answer it although it may take some time for me to get to it.

If you have a question that involves non-specific background (that is, it doesn't really identify your circumstances personally), perhaps the better thing to do is to post it on the board rather than by PM. Why? Because then I won't have to repeat any answers that tend to get asked commonly. I frankly put a higher priority on Board answers than PMs since it tends to benefit more people anyway.

For those of you waiting for an answer to a PM, feel free to take this avenue. It may speed up the reply process. Thanks very much, and hang in there.

Unrelated to Bear, but what do you know about the "Special Situations Group" of a BB? From what I gather, it's generally a lot of principal investing in distressed situations and it's considered to be a buy-side group on the sell-side. Not Goldman, but think Citi, Deutsche, Merrill. Any comments on prestige and exit opps would be great.

guys, i'd prefer if we don't waste his time asking him about prestige of a certain group. Genghis has been an amazing help to hundreds of people on this Board. Lets try not to drive him away with questions on "prestige of xyz group" or "what are my chances" questions.

Thanks, Patrick
