prop trading or something else finance stock market related?
I want to be a prop trader or do something else in finance... im working towards a finance degree... im a freshman right now.. Should I A.) hike the appalachian trail next year and take a semester off of school or B.) save money and trade?? Resume wise, what would look better? i mean i have my whole life to trade, but after school when will i be able to take off 6 months to hike 2175 miles? lol
Check out this website and search "proprietary trading." There's some really good information on there, and if you're only a freshman you have plenty of time to get your plans sorted out. Focus on the grades first; if you do hike the the Appalachian trail that would be a great thing to differentiate yourself and have potential interviewers remember you.

i already know a lot about prop trading.. I've been learning about everything for many years i started learning about the markets in middle school. I just want to make myself stand out more.. To make sure i get a job even if its something as small as hiking the AT... but wouldnt it be better to get some real experience trading.. the way i see it it will cost me 5K to hike the trailll.. or i could just trade that money instead..
