How to send a proper reminder email?
The MD of an MM investment bank I reached out to months ago told me to contact him again in January regarding a part-time internship. This bank doesn't have formal internship program per se, but the MD told me he had several interns work for him in the past and referred me to one his recent intern to inquire details about the experience.
I know I'm probably overthinking it, but this is an MD and I don't want to sound too casual. How about this?
Dear ______,
I hope you had a great holiday season.
I'm XYZ and we spoke months ago regarding a part-time internship opportunity at [your company]. I will be returning to school on [date] and I am free [insert time slots] to discuss how I can help out in the upcoming months.
Sincerely,
XYZ
Don't tell him when you are free. Tell him when you'll be back and ask when he is free, and if he is available to speak with you regarding XYZ
Why not ask the intern he referred you to how best to ask the MD.
I've already done that, but I first need to get into touch with the MD and do so in an appropriate manner.
Proper Networking Etiquette for Office Visit Reminder (Originally Posted: 07/23/2017)
I had a good call with somebody at a BB and he offered to give me a quick tour of the office and introduce me to a few people. This was a few weeks back and he said to remind him on Monday and when I did that, he pushed it back a week and asked for another reminder email next Monday which was fine. I ended up sending that email on Tuesday instead on Monday and he hasn't responded since.
What should I do in this situation? Should I ping him again? I would be sending another email on top of the two previous ones and it feels pushy. If so, what do I say and how should I word that email?
Bump
Give it until next Tuesday then hit him up again. Just keep the e-mails short and stop pushing after this one.
Thanks!
What position was this person at the BB: analyst, associate, VP, director, or managing director?
