Prospective PE Analyst

Greetings, I am currently a junior in business school, and am seeking a career in investments after graduating. This summer, I will be interning with a PE group. Here are some of the questions I have:

  • What are some of the day to day tasks of a PE analyst/associate?
  • What upper level coursework (besides investment/finance courses) would you say are the most beneficial to a new grad in PE (economics, accounting, management, etc.)?
  • What metrics for valuation/modeling would you say are of the most use in PE?
  • Being new in PE, in order to effectively learn and grow, what are the skills you should have down by the time you graduate?

Hopefully I'm asking the right questions, but feel free to give me any other recommendations! Thanks a lot!
