protect wood table from water
To be durable, wooden furniture also needs special care. This step is to prevent the surface from being easily weathered, warped, cracked or broken.
To extend its life, you can coat it with a special product that is resistant to water. This consideration is mainly for furniture that is usually weather-sensitive, such as being in an open area at home.
Apart from requiring a special upholstery, you can also coat it in a natural way to create waterproof furniture. There are three types of oils that can be used to protect waterproof wood, some of which are tung oil, walnut oil and linseed oil.
Tung oil is an extract from the seeds of the tung tree (Aleurites fordii) which is commonly used as a coating, resulting in a shiny and waterproof wood surface.
When used, this oil dries easily and has important properties, especially to protect the paint surface. The finishing touch gives the wood a shiny effect.
Meanwhile, walnut oil is the same product as olive oil (olive oil). The advantage is that this oil can increase wood resistance to water.
Also known as linseed oil, flaxseed oil has the advantage of being able to polymerize when exposed to oxygen. Boiled flaxseeds contain metal drying agents which are poisonous. You can use this product for outdoor furniture.
It should be noted that, this liquid has been used for a long time by carpenters in Europe and later developed for various polishing purposes.
To maximize the surface of the wood, choose the oil according to your needs. Before making the concoction, first check which surfaces need to be coated.
Processes Need to Know
The next step is to create a blend, you can make a coating material that is stronger than a sealant (a filling, adhesive or gap filler) by mixing in apple cider vinegar.
The trick, mix (tung, flaxseed, or walnut) into one part with half the apple cider vinegar. Stir the liquid until it comes together. For some carpenters, this mixture is an original natural blend and its superiority is to protect the wood from a long time.
When the concoction is ready, it's time to prepare the wooden surface. Use sandpaper to open the pores of the wood, rub it repeatedly. Finish by sanding the entire surface using fine sandpaper.
This process aims to flatten the wood surface. Before applying oil, wood must be dry, clean and free from dust.
When the surface is ready, it's time to coat. Pour a little oil on the surface of the cloth. Do not apply oil directly to wood. Rub the oil with a cloth in the direction of the fiber from the inside out. Do not let the oil pool.
When the polish is complete, wait about 30 minutes for the oil to soak into the wood. To remove excess oil, wipe the wood surface with a clean cloth. The drying process, let the wood stand for 24 hours, or until evenly dry.
It should be noted that, making wood waterproof with this natural liquid takes longer than using a sealant. However, this method is more effective and powerful.

This post changed my life. Wow. I'm a different person. Protect wood table from water. The metaphor is mind blowing. We must protect. Wood table from water. Damn. Yes. So good.

My brother-in-law's retired dad is a serious woodworker. Dude was over at our house once and picks up a nice little wooden cutting board we had sitting out. Like a cheese board type thing made out of put-together wooden blocks from 2 alternating types of wood. Somebody had gotten it for us a gift I'm sure. You get married and folks start to assume you're into cheeses all of a sudden. Anyway. Dude takes a look at the board, looks up at me with what can best be described as an 'Really? I told you so' glance, and says, "You know, you really need to oil your wooden cutting boards to keep the wood hydrated. Otherwise, they crack and dry out.'
Goldie: 'Oh, word?'
SantaClause: 'Word indeed. Let me borrow that and take care of it for you. Next time I see you, this cheese board will look better than new.'
Goldie: 'Ok... Thanks...'
Never seen that shit again
Use linseed or Tung oil to create a beautiful and protective hand-rubbed finish.
