Protester Crybaby Rant

"Hey everybody, look at me! I'm a middle aged white woman out for a once-in-a-lifetime photo opportunity at my city's demonstration against...I'm not sure exactly, the President I guess."

Isn't that essentially what all those protests boiled down to? Those bitches are not the highway-blocking type (that's another type of crybaby entirely, far more infuriating), and if those hideous pink hats weren't part of it, I'm fairly certain they would have just stayed home and written a $50 check to the DNC, as if that weren't just about as effective as trying to bail out a sinking ship with a urine sample cup.

I did enjoy sprinkling "lemonade" off of my new (much higher) balcony as a bunch of soccer moms seemed to be ignoring one fat elderly crone with a megaphone yelling something about what democracy looks like, because they were too busy trying to get selfies.

Maybe you're thinking, "hey, take it easy, all of these marches were peaceful." I don't care. That's beside the point. They're stupid. Martin Luther King did this shit all the fucking time and he didn't need ridiculous gimmicks and performances from has-beens like Madonna to get his people to turn out. He was also actually protesting something specific. What exactly was the demand those people had on Saturday? For Trump to not be president anymore? For permission to get menstrual blood everywhere? What?

It doesn't work that way. Act respectable, get respect, and then you can negotiate, end of story. If I put on a stupid hat, ran into the middle of 5th Avenue, and screamed about not wanting to pay any taxes at all, or better yet, let's say I got a bunch of you monkeys to do it with me, you can bet Rachel Maddow would have a field day with her juicy segment on our little "protest," complete with that smug faux-exasperated laugh.

Why? Because our demands are unreasonable and we're acting like idiots. Do you see a difference between that and what unfolded this weekend? I don't. The only real difference is that the mainstream media is covering those marches like they're some kind of heroic feat worthy of greater attention than a PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURATION.

That's all. Discuss.

Exactly like you said - "Act respectable, get respect". Think this should sum it all up for you:

"I moved on her like a bitch, but I couldn't get there, and she was married. Then all of a sudden I see her, she's now got the big phony tits and everything." "I'm automatically attracted to beautiful [women]—I just start kissing them. It's like a magnet. Just kiss. I don't even wait. And when you're a star they let you do it. You can do anything ... Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything."

Politics is funny sometimes - it can be a bit divisive in certain areas of the world. The statements the President has made previously are in stark contrast to what many people find acceptable, and he has expressed a desire to enact legislation that many do not agree with on the basis of how it affects women. The point of coming together, peacefully, was to show the public that there is a serious problem at hand, which a number of people are affected by and have an issue with, and that women's rights are important to a lot of people in the country. To show Congress that a large group of people are concerned by these issues, and they're willing to give up their free time to act against it. If they're willing to march, they are likely to also be willing to campaign against the people running for office who don't make an effort to oppose the certain injustices that they feel victimized about.

We can't always pick and choose exactly what pieces of a candidate we like and which to dispose of when choosing to elect them - this march was a way to express a desire to give focus and support for women's rights as a whole in light of statements and concerns that the President has made along the campaign trail and post-election.

That's how I see it, anyway.

These people are constantly outside my work. I fucking hate them. I was in the Loop Saturday to take an exam and the Women's March was going on. Too many women ended up showing up, so they didn't actually march... just stood there. Hey fucksticks, who are you protesting to? Nobody is here but you and a couple confused tourists. Not my president? No, but he is though. You have the option of leaving. What are you protesting? The results of a democratic election? You mad your guy lost? Shitheads.
