Putting deals that you didn’t work on on resume
Unique situation here: looking to lateral and the firm I’m looking to leave didn’t win/close many deals. However, we somehow closed a notable one in the industry that we work in but I didn’t really do anything on that deal. How bad would it be to put that on my resume?
What do you mean "didn't really do anything on?" If you did some BS market research, sure you can spin and play that up. If you mean "I wasn't at all staffed on it or directly involved in any way....." you should absolutely NOT list that on your resume, especially if it's unique / well-known and likely to attract probing questions.
Very bad, you wouldn't be able to answer any questions about the deal process
Just put shells for the deals you've worked on and can actually talk about
