Putting GMAT score on Resume??
Hi Monkeys,
Got a hypothetical situation for y'all. If you were to score over 700+ on the GMAT, would you include it on your resume? Let's say you also wanted to lateral into a FO position such as IB.. would recruiters/interviewers looking at your resume even give you a chance considering..:
1) Is the GMAT relevant in securing interviews for these kind of positions? I know the CFA holds A LOT more weight and they aren't true apple to apple comparisons, but it still shows a degree of intelligence..
2) Will the interviewers see the GMAT score as a sign of departing the company if hired? "This kid won't stay for long since the GMAT score implies interest of pursuing an MBA.."
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this...
Thanks!

I put my score on (760). I'm from a non-target and thought it could be a differentiator. If you're from a target-school w/ high GPA, I would recommend against it.
It may sound strange since it's just a test score, but every part of your resume should tie into your story. So if you're a non-target, chip on the shoulder type of kid, I think it's fine. On the other hand if you're a blue-chip ivy-leaguer, then it just looks like you're overcompensating for a small pecker.
To your second point, interviewers and even recruiters asked what my MBA plans were.
At the time I was one-year out of school, and simply told them that if it made sense from a career and financial cost standpoint, I would attend b-school in next 3-4 years. It worked out in my current role (ER associate), where tenure is generally that time-frame.
I was (and am) dead set on pursuing a graduate degree, but I did emphasize the high financial and opportunity cost of an MBA just to show them that I'm pragmatic and rational (jokes on them!).
Also remember that in IB, an MBA is a common path a few years after an analyst program ( 2-year Analyst program -> Buy-side/Other opp -> MBA -> Immortality? )
Hope this helps.
Yes.. actually your reply helped a lot. Thank you for sharing. I am also from a non-target, which is why I am thinking of including my score (as well as to offset my GPA).
Go get em tiger
thanks!
Ive heard you should put it on if you have a good score for consulting interviews. Otherwise I would hold off until you submit a B school resume.
