PwC Advisory Internship vs BrightHouse, a BCG Company Strategy Internship
Having trouble deciding between the two. For those who aren't familiar with Brighthouse, it is BCG's "creative consultancy".
PwC:
Pros:
Pretty Solid Rep, opportunity to lateral to MBB
Pay is solid, 30% higher than BrightHouse
It is "Real" consulting, albeit probably a good amount of implementation work
Exit opps are probably better (?)
Cons:
Really don't like the people that much. Didn't gel very well with most.
Not particularly passionate about the firm
Wasn't naturally very good at cases
Not strategy work
BrightHouse, a BCG Company:
Pros:
Loved the people at the firm, the interview flowed naturally.
The culture is really cool - "google-ish"
The people at the firm really seem to like me a lot
"Purpose-Driven" work sounds pretty cool - an opportunity to be creative in my work sounds awesome
Work from home on Wednesdays - 32 hours/week at office
Feels more natural to my skills - I can see myself being top talent at this firm and maybe even staying with it long term
The BCG brand is pretty powerful (?)
"Strategy Work" (?)
Gonna trip a shit ton of acid and smoke a ton of weed
Cons:
Pay is honestly abysmal. Like really bad.
Might be too niche for solid exit opps
Maybe a bit too "fluffy"
I'm not REALLY in BCG.
To be honest, I really don't know what I want in my career. I always toyed with the idea of being a creative consultant and applied to BH on whim. I know there's a good chance I'll be happy at BrightHouse but maybe at a young age I should be hating my job working for a soulless company just so I can gain the practical skills? I could also use more money as I'm going to have student debt.
What do you think
Hey Cryypto, what a lonely thread. I'm here since nobody responded ...so maybe one of these discussions will help:
I hope those threads give you a bit more insight.
Hong long did you hear back from BrightHouse and how many rounds did you have? I had a first round video interview with them two days ago.
