Q&A: CS —> MF PE
Have received a ton of help and guidance from WSO mentors so figured it’d be good to offer some advice from my experiences. A little background: Went to a non-target UG and am currently an analyst at Credit Suisse (going to withhold some info to maintain anonymity). I went through on-cycle recruiting and signed a PE offer with a top MF. Happy to answer any questions and try to provide helpful insights
Can you detail your recruiting timeline, coffee chats in the spring/summer? any networking prior? or was it just head hunters reaching out to you in september?
Coming from non target UG, what tips / advice do you have. Have heard that you will get interest from PE shops but very tough to get the actual offer.
Also, is this standard buyout shop?
Hey OP, congrats, mad respect. Where are you based? If you´re in NYC, how did you beat the competition? Any details on that? Also, do you anything about your new job yet? How does it differ from what you do now?
Again, hats off. Love to see a fellow non-target make it.
Congrats OP Is this London or US? How much networking was involved in your process and how did you network? Cheers !
No questions from me, but congratulations. Best of luck and try to enjoy the rest of your time in banking (to the extent possible).
Congrats! What groups at CS usually go to MF? Also, any advice on how to prep, stand out/network? Thanks so much
First off congrats... secondly would you be able to summarize your recruitment process for CS
Congrats! How did you go about interviewing while also working?
Hey man, congrats. Getting started on hopefully a similar path. Unsure if you're answering Qs on here anymore but if so would love some clarity on your process, and maybe the amount of looks you got coming from CS despite non-target UG. Hope you're doing well.
