Quant HF Final Round Response
Had a final round 2-3 weeks ago with a big quant HF (think DE Shaw/2Sig/etc.) for a Quant Research internship. I thought it went extremely well at the time.
Following the interview, I was told I'd hear back within a week but I didn't, so I emailed back and was told that I would hear back within **another ** week, and was told to keep them updated with any other offers or deadlines I was receiving. Said additional week has now elapsed as well.
Anyone have experience with dealing with this kinda situation/what should I email and say? I feel like I'm probably dinged, but if so why do they care about other offers I have? I do have another deadline I need to respond to in 2 weeks' time for a much smaller firm - is it worth updating them on that? Would really appreciate any advice on how to play this, or if anyone's had similar experiences, thanks!
